Created with the support of the Portland area track and field community, the Portland Anti-Gravity Center is centrally located in the Hollywood district. It officially opened in September 2009. It is designed to provide year-round indoor training opportunities for athletes of all ages. This facility, with heat in the winter and cooling in the summer, will help athletes avoid rain, snow, wind and extreme temperatures.
Football, basketball, volleyball, baseball, soccer, lacrosse and track and field athletes will use the facility to improve their vertical jump, agility, quickness, and sport specific techniques. Injury prevention classes will be available as well as conditioning classes and Boot Camps. At the Portland Anti-Gravity Center you will find a community of like-minded athletes and coaches working hard to improve and achieve personal success.
The center is located at 1606 NE 37th. NE 37th is one way south between Broadway and Sandy. You can only gain access to 37th from Broadway. Hollywood has strange traffic partterns; we recommend you look at Google Maps if you are unfamilar with the area.

How to Register for Class or Clinic
Call Alameda Fitness Center at 503-548-4011 and provide the name, instructor, date and time of the event for which you would like to register. Or email the same information to .
Payment is by check or cash and is payable on day of the event. Please make checks payable to Alameda Fitness Center. No debit, credit card, or prepayment. Please arrive 15 minutes early to sign waiver and meet and greet.
Scheduling Pit Time
Contact to obtain Google Calender authorization. After you have authorization, go to Google Calender and avoid scheduled classes, clinics, and boot camps which will use most of the space. If someone signs up for the high jump pit, you can proceed to schedule weights, hurdles/plyos, or long/triple jump training as these elements are separate. Obviously, if someone has reserved the high jump pit, you need to avoid their time.
Sponsors and Partners
Legally there is no relationship between the center and other businesses, but several parties were involved from the beginning and continue to be supportive. First, it is noted that the Portland Anti-Gravity Center is a DBA within Alameda Fitness Center, LLC which is providing administrative support, and will use the facility as an overflow classroom and training facility. Foot Traffic is a running and walking shoe retailer that will manage a small pro shop on site. Brent Mueller, PT, DPT, of Broadway Physical Therapy is an important player as he will staff the Injury Prevention classes along with other clinicians from BPT. And of great importance, coaches and personal trainers will create a supportive community and promote athletic excellence. Thanks to everyone who helped create this center.
To Use the Track and Field Equipment
You cannot use the track and field equipment without having a coach or trainer present. So, coaches bring your athletes, athletes bring your coaches and trainers.
Important Information About Coaches

Parking
The property does not have a parking lot. Do not park in the NECC parking lot immediately north of the building.
There is usually parking on the east side of 37th between Broadway and Sandy. The next alternative is the Banfield Motel parking lot which you enter from 37th across the street from the building. The next alternative is the MBank parking lot entered from Broadway or 37th, with the MBank parking only available before 8:30 AM or after 5:30.
